If there’s one thing we all have to learn in
life, it is the fact that not everything always
goes our way. But with that being said, we
also have to learn how to adapt and take life
into our own hands. Take for example,
Joshua Ninan. He had dreams of singing on
stage in front of screaming fans. But things
didn’t quite go that way; instead he took his
love for music and decided to do something
different. He decided that if he couldn’t
perform his music, he might as well work
with it and ended being a part of Shazam,
the music identification service. After that,
he and a few partners started Olive Apps, a
company that is focused on not just creating
apps but also consulting companies
who need them to reach a wider
audience. In 2010, Joshua and his
team managed to secure a grant
from the Cradle Investment
Programme (Malaysia) and from
there on out, the skies were the
limits. Olive Apps and their
partner Applacarte have
developed apps such as
FLYKLIA and are also working
on a pretty big project with
Universal Music.
What is that one
device you can’t live
without today?Now, that’s a tough question
really because I actually rely on two
different devices everyday and without
either one of it, it feels like I’ve lost a limb.
The two devices I can’t live without is my
laptop that I use to create flowcharts and
wireframes and most importantly to do
HTML scripting for websites. The other
device I rely on heavily is my Nokia Lumia
820. This of course is to stay in contact with
programmers and clients through
messaging services like Whatsapp and
Viber, check my e-mails when I am on-thego and also to test out the features in the
apps that my team is developing.
