the high-frequency range. The effect on the human body is
comparable to the one of WLAN.
Limits:The limits for WLAN or Bluetooth transmitters are applicable
for mobile devices as well; when used close to the head,
smartphones must not radiate more than 2 W/kg on the body.
Risks:There’s hardly any smartphone that actually reaches the limit
value. For example, the iPhone 5 produces a SAR value of 0.8 W/kg.
Powerful emitters such as Nokia’s Lumia 900 have a SAR value of
about 1.5 W/kg. However the transmitting power depends greatly
on the mobile network. It increases if the connection is weak.
Tips:Buy devices with a low SAR value. Wait for a connection to
establish. If possible, use headsets and don’t talk on the phone
when in a car (higher power due to absorption by the car body).
Turn off WLAN and Bluetooth when you are not using it.
