(Project Loon) a much more viable service, as the company acquired Titan
Aerospace, makers of high-altitude solar-powered drones. It has also been reported
that the aeronautics company was actually in talks with Facebook about a proposed
takeover before Google swooped in to steal the deal away from the social media
giants.
Besides Project Loon, it is also possible that Google has plans for Titan for
Makani, a project to build an energy-efficient airborne wind turbine. On top of that, it
is possible that Google Maps will also be able to take advantage of Titan’s unmanned
drones as they are capable of taking high-resolution images of the earth.
