played for these games. An interesting
point to note about game sales on
Steam is the fact that 83 percent of all
sales on Steam currently are thanks to
the top 20 percent of titles on the online
game retail service. Going slightly
further, the top 100 selling games on
Steam are also responsible for half of all
sales.
The top 20 percent of titles sold there
are also responsible for 98 percent of all
game time on that service, which leads
them to believe that many people likely
buy games when they are super cheap
during any one of Steam’s seasonal
sales, but eventually leave them alone
and are only played when they have the
free time
