buildings. Their frequency range lies between 1.8 and 1.9GHz. The
transmission signal is pulsed with 100 so that several telephones
can access the base station in a time slot method.
Limits:For the base station, the recommended limit is 250 Milliwatts
for ranges up to 300 m (outdoors) and 50 m (indoors). This results in
a transmitting power of 10 Milliwatts per telephone.
Risks:Older base stations without a transmitting power regulation
always transmit with maximum power during a telephone call. With
typical SAR values of about 0.1 W/kg, the telephones themselves
don’t pose any risks. There is no scientific proof to substantiate that
pulsed signals can cause any particular harm.
Tips:Use low-emission models (transmitting power regulation, idle
state without any control signal). Set up the base station at less
frequented places. Use hands-free equipment.
